Almost two years ago I stood by my grandfather’s coffin with a flag and his Bible sitting on it. Looking at the tombstone that had already been made, it had his birth date followed by a dash. In that moment, what really hit me was that dash spoke to a long life lived; a life that made an impact. In an instant I made a commitment to say that my dash was going to matter. But the only way that our dash can ever matter is if we actually live a life on purpose. We’re dropping a new video series compiled of real building blocks to help you live on purpose so that your dash can truly make a dent in this world.

Are you willing to be aware? Before you agree, are you willing to discover that maybe you're not actually good at some of those hopes and dreams you had? Maybe that dream you're chasing should have died long ago? It's scary, but become self-aware can also lead us to discover who we really are and what we've been created to be. It will be challenging, but in the end, it will be worth it.

If we are truly going to be a nation where people can walk together we must be willing to lead with empathy. Empathy is free, but it will cost you everything.

Live on Purpose | Episode 2 | “What’s in your Hands?” 🤲🏾 • It’s easy to obsess over what other people have. It’s easy to desire over other people’s talents. We see their ability to communicate, sing, play an instrument, or perform; test for a high IQ; come from a “preferable” family of origin. • Eventually, we become envious. Naturally, we’ll spend our time obsessing over what we don’t have rather than being grateful for what we do have. By doing so, we miss out on something significant. We miss out on a life lived on purpose. • In this next episode of our video series Live on Purpose, we’re looking at how important it is to evaluate what we currently have in our hands. • So this is the question: What’s in your hands?

If you’re not willing to love the process, you need to get out of the game. In this week’s Live on Purpose video, I want to encourage you to begin truly loving the process. Everyone has skill-sets they’ve been given, but what truly matters is what you do to cultivate those skills. Cultivation comes with resilience. There will always be a struggle in order to fight through your own insecurities and get to work. The process is where you find your calling. I’m willing to go broke for my calling. I’m willing to fight. Are you ready to work?

This last episode of Live on Purpose is all about putting the lessons you’ve learned from this series into practice. It’s time to make your dash matter, cultivate your skill sets, fight through your fears, and get to work. Our life here on Earth is short, but we have been given all we need to pursue a calling that echos into eternity. Until our very last breath, we must be willing to push through and live a life on purpose.
